2010 Update

Philippine Air Force purchased of 18 brand-new four-seater Alenia Aermacchii SF-260FH trainer planes from Alenia Aermacchii of Italy. The first four arrived at Air Force City in Clarkfield, Pampanga for test flights in November 2010. Originally scheduled for 2009 delivery, but was delayed due to "contract issues". The assembly of eight of the planes was completed in December 2010 by AEROTECH Industries Philippines Inc., Alenia Aermacchi’s local industry partner, is the assembler of the SF-260FH. The remain was completed in April 2011 as the parts were arriving in batches from Alenia Aermacchii, the plane manufacturer.

The 18 aircraft, fully delivered by April 2011, costed P622.59 million (USD 15 million) was just a small portion to modernize the air assets of the military.

The technical specifications of the plane have a span of 8.35-m and length of 7.40-m. It has maximum takeoff of 1,350-kg. It’s engine is marked Allison 250-B17D Turboprop; Power, SLS, ISA 350 HP; Limited Speed of 236 KEAS; Limited Load Factor +6/-3 g; Maximum Level Speed 228 KTAS; Rate of Climb 2,200 ft/min; and Range Clean 350 nm.

The Philippines’ aviation sector received a lift after an Italian defense contractor and a Filipino aviation firm signed a deal for the manufacture of training aircraft at Clark Development Zone. Alenia Aermacchi (Italy) and AEROTECH Industries (Philippines) signed the agreement to build 18 Alenia Aermacchi SF-260FH aircraft trainer on 24 April 2008. The 18 Alenia Aermacchi SF-260FHwill be used by the Philippine Air Force.

The aircraft, spare parts and services to be provided by Alenia will cost the government USD$13.8 million.

"The agreement will definitely boost the Philippines’ aviation industry,"� said Teresa Parian, Aerotech Industries’ chief operating officer. "and it is through 2015, which means that all orders that Alenia Aermacchi will receive worldwide up to that period will be assembled in and supplied out of the Aerotech Philippines facility.

AEROTECH Industries (Philippines) Inc has link with the Dutch company, AEROTECH Holdings B.V., Holland and Aerodef Asia Pte Ltd, Singapore.

Exclusively represent Alenia Aermacchi S.p.A in Singapore and through, AEROTECH Industries Philippines, Inc., and have an aircraft maintenance and service center in Clarkfield, Philippines, capable and authorized to perform mandatory and major structural inspection of the Alenia Aermacchi S-211, maintain, operate and lease the Alenia Aermacchi SF-260, and inspect, repair and service the MK 10 Martin Baker ejection seats.
