Pilatus PC-7

The Pilatus PC-7 aircraft is build by Pilatus.

The Pilatus PC-7 Turbo Trainer, equipped with a turboprop engine, is a two seated tandem low-wing monoplane with a retractable tricycle gear, designed for military and commercial training. Both cockpits are equipped with flight and navigation instruments that allow a sophisticated instrument flight training, also in combination with the integrated autopilot.

Propellor Sync is not to ensure the engines are running at the same speed, although in a way it does accomplish that. What it does is synchronize the position of the propellor blades so that they are turning in sync with each other (for example if you have two 2-bladed props they will both be up-and-down at the same time and horizontal at the same time) while the engine is running. The benefit of this is that you get greater cancellation of noise and vibration from the engines because each one is synchronized (most likely to be out of phase)with the other. If a propellor on one side is travelling say 10rpm faster than the other, the effect on straight and level flight will be negligible, but since there is a small difference in rotational speed of the engines, you will hear "beating" and more noise because of the rpm mismatch.

A good way to describe propellor control is that it is similar to changing the gears on your car. You can adjust the rpms of the propellor to either provide more pushing power or greater economy for a given throttle setting. So putting the props full forward is like using 1st gear (high rpms, high acceleration) and then once you’re in cruise you "put it into 5th gear" (low rpms, low acceleration but high economy) by decreasing the prop rpms. It’s advantage over a fixed-pitch propellor is that you can operate the plane at maximum efficiency during all phases of flight, whereas with a fixed pitch propellor you either have best efficiency while cruising (and therefore poor climb performance) or best efficiency while climbing (and therefore poor economy in cruise).

Pilatus PC-7 has an overall length of 9.8 meters (32.0_ft). It has a wing span of 10.4 meters (34.0_ft). The overall height of 3.2 meters (10.5_ft). The overall weight of an empty aircraft is about 2100 kilograms (4,620.0_lbs).
