KAI KT-1 Woongbi

The KAI KT-1 Woongbi aircraft is build by KAI (Korea).

The KT-1 Woongbi (Woong Bee) is the first completely indigenous Korean aircraft ever developed. The KT-1 project began in 1988 by Korean Aerospace Industries (KAI). KT-1 can be equipped with either an analog or ’glass’ cockpit configuration. Both types are employed by the Republic of Korea Air Force. In terms of appearance, the KT-1 looked very much like the the Pilatus PC-9.

The 10.3-meter aircraft has turbo-prop engines boasting 950-horsepower that can generate a maximum speed of up to 574 kilometers per hour. It can fly at an altitude of 9,000 to 11,000 meters and cover a distance of 1,700 kilometers without refueling.
