Junction 8 is located in the high-density residential area of Bishan, a relatively affluent district in the centre of Singapore. The shopping centre is positioned for the middle-income and family-oriented segments of the retail market, targeting families residing in the surrounding housing estates, office workers within the vicinity and students from nearby schools.

Junction8 is a partially enclosed shopping centre which incorporates two basement levels of car parking cum retail space and four storeys of retail space. In addition, it has a six-storey office tower comprising less than 20% of total Net Lettable Area.  Junction 8 is a 'one-stop' shopping, dining and entertainment destination and is the only shopping centre of its kind in Bishan. It is strategically located between the Bishan bus interchange and MRT station making it easily accessible. Close to three quarters of its customers travel to and from the mall by either MRT or bus.

The shopping centre has more than 800,000 people residing in its main catchment area, which accounts for approximately 63% of its customer base.
