In 1948, when Earle Swensen opened his first Ice Cream Shoppe in San Francisco atop Russian Hill offering his ice cream as "Good as Father Used to Make". Little did he realize that Swensen’s would be today a name synonymous with extraordinary delicious ice cream the world ever known. Since then, more than 180 flavors of ice cream have been created and enjoyed by both young and old, making Earle Swensen’s "America’s Ice Cream Man". Ice cream lovers certainly agreed because today, there are over 200 Swensen’s ice cream outlets all over the world including Asia, the Middle East, USA and South America.

Swensen’s is an American casual-dining restaurant concept, offering premium ice cream in a wide variety of outrageous flavors, all presented in creatively designed sundae concoctions. It has established itself as the place where "you can be yourself". Every effort has been made to create an unpretentious ambience that will make everyone feel welcome.

Swensen’s first delighted tastebuds with a 200-seater restaurant at Thomson Plaza in 1979. Two years later, we opened Swensen’s world’s biggest ice cream restaurant at Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 1 with a seating capacity of 250. Within the same year, the third Swensen’s restaurant was opened at Plaza Singapura. With 200 seats, this outlet together with Swensen’s Changi Airport Terminal 1 broke several of Swensen’s international sales records. Over the years, Swensen’s soon sprung up all over Singapore. Swensen’s network in Singapore comprises of full service cafe restaurants and a cafe in Singapore.
