Jurong West Town is on the opposite side of Jurong East covering a much larger area of some 990 hectares with 56% used for residential purpose.  Jurong West is much bigger than Jurong East in terms of size and population. It has some 55,800 units slightly more than twice the units in Jurong East. The majority of the flats are 4-room type followed by 5-room type. There are also close to 5,000 units of executive flats. It serves a population of about 183,000 residents.
