library@orchard was officially opened on 21 October 1999. library@orchard is a major milestone in NLB´s history as it is the first lifestyle library designed especially to appeal to young Singaporeans aged 18 to 35 years. The library´s unique location at the heart of Singapore’s bustling Orchard Road shopping belt is intended to attract the youth segment of the population. Orchard Road is a place where youths most frequently meet, and by bringing the library to them, NLB is bringing the pleasure of reading and learning closer to our young people.

What you should look out for at library@orchard: comics@orchard where graphic novels, comic strips, and manga are stacked almost to the ceiling. Looking for that driving holiday? Check out our off-the-beaten track travel guides and driving itineraries in our Travel Guides section. Enjoy piped-in music while you enjoy a cuppa and that very great book in our cafe. Can´t find that bestseller at the other branches? Well, library@orchard has a relatively large fiction collection. At over 33% of our total collection, we´ve got classics and the latest novels.
