Jurong West Community Library was officially opened on 28 March 1996.   The library covers an area of 1,232 square metres and is situated within the Jurong Point Shopping Centre. It is the first community library to be located in a commercial complex, in line with the Library 2000 Master Plan to bring the public libraries closer to the people. The library serves residents in the South West areas of Ahmad Ibrahim, Hong Kah West, Jalan Bahar, Jurong West and Tuas.
