Colourful Beemers at Empress Place


Singapore will get a rare opportunity to view BMW cars uniquely painted by legendary artists Roy Lichtenstein (in 1977 on a BMW 320i), Andy Warhol (in 1977 on a BMW M1), Australia’s Ken Done (in 1989 on a BMW M3) and Frank Stella (in 1976 on a BMW 3.0CSL). Shown on here is the founders of pop art, Roy Lichtenstein’s work on a BMW 320i, "car number 50" which was drove by Herve Poulain at 1977 24 Hours Car Race of Le Mans. Roy used painted lines to leave his stamp on the car. These 4 cars are part of a 15-car collection by BMW. The Art on a BMW exhibition starts on January 24th at Empress Place, in front of Victoria Theater next to Dalhousie Obelisk, is sponsored by BWM Asia. Read on...
