Catch Kumar, Singapore’s famous drag queen / stand-up comic and his band of performers (mainly other drag queens and teenage boys) on stage here. Boom Boom Room has come a long way, back from the days when the club was located at Bugis. Update: On 15 Jan 2005, Singapore’s only drag queen cabaret (and some say, Singapore’s only real national institution) will close for good after 12 years of entertaining the drag queen-loving masses.  The main reasons given were that the shows are getting stale (agreed), the drag queens are getting old (yes, the Queen of queens, Kumar is 36), no new breed of performers and the existing ones just do not have what it takes to take over from the Queen of queens (very true) and the club at Far East Square is in a poor location.  Kumar has since moved on the Gold Dust.
