Alor Setar - Where to go?

The only place we really know is in City Plaza, where there is an internet café on the second floor.

Menara Alor Setar - This is the second largest telecom tower in Malaysia after the one in Kuala Lumpur. It’s an imposing structure. You can take the elevator to the top for RM3 for a good view of Kedah and even Butterworth and Thailand. There is also a café on top.

Balai Seni and Medan Bandar - A large city park and art gallery located at the roundabout at Jalan Tunku Ibrahim and Lebuhraya Darul Aman. The park is nice and quiet with a couple of interesting fountains. At the north end is the Balai Besar, an outdoor hall lavishly decorated and used for entertaining foreign emissaries in years past.

Masjid Zahir - A uniquely designed mosque built in 1912 in the style of Northern Sumatra. Definitely worth a look for a moment.

Pekan Rabu - An interesting market offering all sorts of Thai products and also prayer items. Located between City Plaza and Medan Bandar on Jalan Tunku Ibrahim.
