Mall for the youth
Marina Square will open January 2005 after a major renovation with a new Youth Zone. Youth Zone takes up 20 per cent of Marina Square and will have about 100 retail shops - modelled after Tokyo's Harajuku and Bangkok's Siam Square. The Heeren, which was the first to claim a piece of the youth pie, has shifted its retail focus to the young working adults. Parco Bugis Junction opened The Edge in 2001, which now has 38 shops across 17,000 sq feet targeting the young shopper. A year later, Far East Plaza open its Level One, with 88 shops over 45,000 sq feet.
