Also known as United Overseas Bank Plaza One

United Overseas Bank Plaza is one of three 280 metres tall buildings in Singapore. 280 metres is the maximum height permitted by the National Aviation Authority. The base is octagonal, but tapers to the top with a square finish, with square blocks nested 45 degrees to one another forming the upper part of the tower. A double-storey sky lobby can be found on the 37th and 38th floor, providing paranomic views of the city. The two blocks of the complex are joined by a 45 metre long podium supported by four large square columns. The podium houses the banking hall, which is framed by a 12-metre high stainless steel tensile truss curtain wall. The podium also creates a pleasant public space for pedestrain movement to flow unimpeeded from Raffles Place to the Singapore River.

It is located next to the older and shorter UOB Plaza Two was extensively renovated, topped by a new crown that resembles that of the taller tower.
