Royal Plaza closes for extreme make-over

ROYAL Plaza on Scotts Singapore closed for a four-month renovation designed to bring the hotel "to the next level. After the make-over, Royal Plaza will reopens in stages from January 2007. The multi-million dollar upgrade is the most massive the hotel has undertaken in its history, according to sources. A new restaurant with four open stations will replace the popular 32-year-old CafŽ Vienna, and a chic new bar and room design is planned. Royal Plaza competitor along this tourist belt includes Meritus Mandarin, Orchard Hotel, Parkview Holiday Inn and Traders hotels.  When Royal Plaza reopens in 2007, it will be the first totally no-smoking hotel in Singapore.
