New Year 2006 Water Light-up

A New Year countdown spectacle awaits families and loved ones on December 31, 2005. The more than 2006 lighted spheres dot the Marina Bay waterfront, setting the bay aglow on 2006 New Year’s Eve. These spheres, with New Year wishes written on them by Singaporeans from all walks of life, have been released into the waters of Marina Bay at the Esplanade. Together with a state-of-the-art lighting and music display, the 2006 countdown event with a multi-million an extravagant visual arts presentation of powerful lights and nine-minute long fireworks - the first of its kind in Singapore.
