Pass It On

...  Your Old Household Appliances.

Pass It On seeks to provide an efficient and effective means of distributing unwanted, albeit useful, household items to benefit the less privileged. The donated items will be made available to all Voluntary Welfare Organisations (VWOs) (eg. Family Service Centres and Senior Citizen Centres), with the ultimate aim to pass on these items to meet the needs of the less privileged within the care of these organisations. Anyone, within Singapore, can donate - as long as the item is of good working condition. With Pass It On, your used item can be given a new lease of life, and to better the life of someone else!

Pass It On hopes to achieve three objectives. It hopes to, firstly, encourage the re-utilisation of household items so as to discourage wastages. It also hopes to encourage greater participation of individuals in the care of the less privileged, within Singapore. In hand with the growing affluence of many individuals, there is a need to encourage a sense of giving to the less privileged.

Last, but not least, Pass It On hopes to encourage volunteerism amongst a wide range of age groups, to promote intergenerational bonding. The project will be heavily dependent upon the involvement of volunteers to assist in a variety of roles. For example, to provide an initial assessment of the condition of the donated items, to provide skills in the repair or refurbishment of donated items, to help in the acquisition of the donated items, or to deliver the items to the recipients.
