United States Air Force ICOA Code: AIO, is based in United States.

The USAF is the aerial warfare service branch of the United States Armed Forces and one of the American uniformed services. Initially part of the United States Army USAF maintained a system of aircraft naming, they are:

• A for Ground Attack Aircraft.
• B for Bombers.
• C for Cargo Transport.
• E for Special Electronic Missions.
• F for Fighters.
• H for Search and Rescue.
• K for Tanker.
• M for Multi-Mission Aircraft.
• Q for Multi-Mission UAVs (Remote Piloted Aircraft).
• O for Observation.
• T for Trainer.
• U for Utility Aircraft.
• V for VIP Staff Transport.
• W for Weather Reconnaissance.

Because of budget constraints, the USAF planned to reduce its strenght from 360,000 active duty personnel to 316,000.

• F/A-18 Hornet from Boeing.
• F/A-22 Raptor from Lockheed-Martin.
• F-16 Fighting Falcon from Lockheed-Martin.

• F-5E Tiger II from Northrop Grumman.
• V-22 Osprey from Boeing.
